Passkeys: sign in with Face ID, fingerprint or Windows Hello
Staff and clinicians can skip the texted code and sign in with the biometric already on their phone or laptop.
Credentialing handles sensitive clinician data, so sign-in should be both safer and easier. Passkeys are both.
One tap, no code to wait for. Staff and clinicians can save a passkey and then sign in with Face ID, Touch ID, a fingerprint or Windows Hello. Texted codes and magic links still work for anyone who prefers them.
Offered at the right moment. Right after signing in, a short prompt offers to add a passkey. "Not now" and "Don't ask again" are both respected. On the login page, the email field can suggest a saved passkey automatically.
Easy to manage. Each person sees their passkeys in Profile Settings, with the provider (iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, Windows Hello and others), when it was last used, and a way to remove it.
Built on an open standard. Passkeys use the industry WebAuthn standard, so there is no extra vendor holding your logins. They are phishing-resistant by design, require the person to verify on their device, and each sign-in challenge is single-use and short-lived.
Benefit: fewer login delays for recruiters and clinicians, fewer account takeovers, and a stronger security story for your IT and compliance reviewers.
